On a Mission

We build AI systems that help engineering-led businesses grow. Every solution works in production, runs on infrastructure our clients control, and solves a problem their leadership team identified.

With a Vision

A future where engineering-led businesses don’t just react to disruption, they set the pace. Where AI is embedded across the commercial functions that drive growth, not buried in back-office cost reduction. Where engineering businesses compete on intelligence, speed, and customer intimacy, regardless of their size.

Turnkey Delivery

Working systems, not strategy decks. Scoped, built, tested, deployed, and handed over

The AI industry is full of noise: overblown promises, generic demos, and consultants who’ve never run a business like yours. We started Ascentis AI because engineering businesses deserve better than that.

Your market is shifting: new entrants using AI to develop competitive products in months, rising competition from China, supply chain disruption, and price volatility eroding old advantages. The companies that act now with practical, proven solutions rather than experiments will set the pace. The ones that wait will spend the next decade catching up.

Meet our team

Two founders. One built and ran technical businesses. The other architects enterprise software at scale. Together, they cover the full stack from boardroom credibility to deployment reliability.

How We Deploy

Every solution we build is designed to run on infrastructure you control. No third-party AI APIs, no data leaving your premises, no vendor lock-in. Choose the deployment model that fits your compliance requirements and operational preferences.

On Your Hardware

Complete Docker stack deployed to your server. All processing local. Zero external dependencies. Your data never leaves your building.

Private Cloud

Same containerised stack on Azure. UK/EU data centres. Full data sovereignty. No third-party AI APIs.

Hybrid

Sensitive data on-premises. Non-sensitive workflows in private cloud. Configured to your compliance requirements.

Built on open-source infrastructure you control

We leverage the best open-source tools to build robust, scalable AI systems.

Straight Answers to Common Questions

Is AI really relevant to us?

Large enterprises have teams to build this in-house. Engineering-led businesses have the same opportunities, faster market insight, stronger sales capability, smarter products, better customer service, but without the internal resource to execute. Every client we work with has complex products or operations where AI can directly touch revenue. That's where we focus.

What happens to our data?

It stays yours, on your infrastructure. Every solution we build runs on self-hosted, open-source components, local LLMs, local databases, Docker containers on your hardware or in your private cloud. Your data never leaves your building. No third-party AI APIs, no data sent to external servers. This is non-negotiable for us.

How is this different from a generic AI consultancy?

Our founder ran multimillion-pound private and public businesses with global presence. He’s sat in the chair you sit in, managed the teams you manage, and faced the commercial pressures you face. We don’t sell AI theory; we build working systems for businesses like yours because we understand how they operate from the inside.

What does a typical engagement cost?

Between £5k and £25k for most engagements, depending on scope and complexity. Larger or multi-phase programmes are scoped individually. Payment is milestone-based, structured around deliverables. We'll cover the specifics during scoping.

No. We deliver turnkey systems: scoped, built, tested, deployed, and handed over as working solutions. Your existing team can operate them. If you want ongoing support, we offer maintenance retainers, but there’s no dependency. You own the system, the code, and the infrastructure.

It starts with a conversation, no commitment, no pitch deck. If there’s a fit, we run a short discovery session to understand your goals and define what success looks like. From that, you receive a transparent, detailed specification covering exactly what we’ll build, how long it will take, and what it will cost. Nothing starts until you’ve reviewed and signed off the spec. Then we build to that spec, with weekly progress updates. No surprises, no scope creep, no ambiguity.

We set clear success metrics before any work begins, agreed with you during discovery. These are specific and measurable: support response time reduced from days to hours, quotation turnaround cut from a week to minutes, sales teams accessing competitive intelligence they couldn’t before. The project should pay for itself in weeks, not years. Most engagements run £5–25k. Larger or multi-phase programmes are scoped individually. Either way, the value unlocked is typically multiples of the investment within the first quarter.

Most engagements deliver a working system in 4–12 weeks. We don’t spend months on strategy decks. Discovery takes a week. Specification takes a week. Then we build. You see progress weekly and a deployed solution within the project timeline.

We take a feasibility-first approach. If a project is too risky or unlikely to deliver value, we say so before you spend anything. For complex technical projects, we run a paid feasibility phase first. And we guarantee deliverables, you receive the specific system described in the specification, rather than making promises about business outcomes we can’t control.

Absolutely. Many clients begin with a single-pillar engagement, a market intelligence project, a support triage system, or an AI governance framework. These are self-contained, deliver value independently, and give you a low-risk way to evaluate how we work before committing to anything larger.
